MCBA Speaker Policy for General Business Meetings
As of 12/08

WHEREAS, speakers may be arranged for the general monthly meetings of the Mill Creek Business Association, and

WHEREAS, the general goal of these meetings is to provide information of widespread usefulness to most or all members present, and

WHEREAS, pre-meeting networking and brief spotlight opportunities are available for members to describe their own businesses to the general membership,

IT IS AGREED that primary speakers will be asked to speak on topics of general interest to all business owners in Mill Creek, rather than topics specific to their own businesses, and

IT IS FURTHER AGREED that the Speaker Committee will be responsible for the selection of upcoming speakers and for making clear the above criteria for topics to the speakers, and

IT IS FURTHER AGREED that speakers may be selected from within or from outside the MCBA membership, but if a member is equally qualified to discuss a particular topic as is an outside speaker, the member will be offered first right of refusal to present the topic, and

BE IT FURTHER AGREED that if a speaker requires an honorarium or fee for their speaking services, the Speaker Committee is authorized to offer up to $200 for these services, to be paid from the main MCBA Account.
