2011 Summer Concert Series

Back by popular demand, the Mill Creek Town Center will again host a weekly summer concert series sponsored by the Mill Creek Business Association, North Creek Roofing, Providence Regional Medical Center Everett and Windermere Real Estate & Mortgage Mill Creek. Because of the generosity of these businesses, the live concerts are FREE to the public and will run every Wednesday from July 6 - August 31, 6-8 p.m. at The FORUM at Creekside Village (151st St. S.E. & Main St.).

The concert series is a popular, family-friendly community event enjoyed by people of all ages.Many area restaurants will offer specials on concert nights so families can grab some food and enjoy some great live entertainment with dinner. Add a comment

MCBA joins Affiliated Associations of America to provide more resources for our members

At the January, 2011 MCBA board retreat, board members heard a presentation from Affiliated Associations of America (AAOA) and decided to join on behalf of the MCBA membership.

AAOA is a cooperative platform which has developed a benefit program to enhance the value of membership for Chambers or Associations. AAOA provides a turn-key member benefit solution that offers companies and their employees an opportunity to cut the costs of doing business by taking advantage of AAOA's group purchasing power, receiving full access to exclusive member discounts and pricing.

At the April MCBA lunch, three representatives from AAOA made a presentation on benefits, including their health insurance plans for companies with few employees. Add a comment

I just returned from being interviewed by Bill Grimes of Studio Cascade, a company that specializes in Community Planning & Design, and one of the companies hired by the City of Mill Creek to help them with building a strategic plan. In the next couple of weeks the Mill Creek City Council will be meeting with consultants at a retreat to work on this project. Before this happens, Bill and his team will have interviewed various individuals to get some ideas on what those who work or live in Mill Creek think about their city. Soon after the retreat, a website will be launched that any of us can visit to keep track of the process and provide input. When the website is ready we will let you know.

As business owners and managers, you know the importance of having a strategic plan for success. Writing the plan is one thing; implementing it and revisiting it to make changes as the market changes is the really tough part.
