A message from the MCBA President

In business, success can often depend on what you know and who you know. This is not a new idea, business associations, chambers, and networking groups survive on the need to realize these objectives for their members.

The Mill Creek Business Association will put you in touch with new customers and clients, but will also provide practical business support, new ways to market, and increase your influence in the community. Membership also means staying on top of what is happening so that you can take advantage of opportunities rather than reacting to change.

As the association has grown the demands to provide more value for our members has also increased. To this end the MCBA board has just approved a 2011 budget that will provide more marketing funds to continue to promote "shop local," to acquire more business competencies through knowledgeable speakers, and broaden the scope of influence by offering more ways to network to even more businesses owners. MCBA membership also offers a variety of ways to gain exposure, from mini-tradeshows to on-line advertising to targeted sponsorships.

It is the aspiration of the MCBA board to assist members in growing professionally. Although our year has just begun, we hope to be introducing dynamic new ways to get connected, further strengthen our business community, provide a forum in which we come together and collaborate on solutions to issues effecting our competitive edge, our growth, our profitability, and even our very survival. We want to achieve a climate of economic propensity and a high quality of life for the City of Mill Creek.

As a member you are valued and your opinion is important to us. Watch for an email survey in the next couple of weeks as we ask for your input and bounce some ideas around for further development.
