(Originally printed in the official festival program guide distributed on July 6, 2010.) Look for big changes at this year's Mill Creek Festival. We have moved our location and will be on Mill Creek Boulevard this year. Shuttle vans are still available and recommended, but will be running from the much closer Jackson High School parking lot instead of the McCollum park and ride. All the components of the festival our visitors have come to know are still in place. You will see some new entertainment in the Pet Plaza, which will be larger this year. We also have increased the number of food vendors. As always, the efforts of our committee chairs and their volunteers, along with the support and sponsorship from the City of Mill Creek, a myriad of local businesses, and the members of the Mill Creek Business Association, are the gears that make this festival run so smoothly each year. The planning started last fall and has really heated up in these last few weeks prior to the event. We especially want to thank our presenting sponsor, Providence Hospital and Medical Center, as well as the Providence Physician Group, for sponsoring the Pet Plaza. The Providence support was substantial and speaks to the organization's commitment to the community. We also owe our gratitude to North Creek Roofing, owned by Dan and Sue McNeely. They have stepped up to the plate each year, not only with a generous monetary donation, but as vendors at the Street Fair and as volunteers. As you explore this program you will learn about a number of sponsors who make the festival possible. Be sure to thank them and to support their business whenever you can.
The festival is produced by the Mill Creek Business Association. You can visit them at MillCreekBiz.com. The members of the association hope everyone who attends has a great time, and further that the Festival acts as a showcase to reveal what a wonderful, safe and welcoming community we have in Mill Creek. - Kevin Giboney, Festival Chair |
