Tuesday, May 21st MCBA Lunch "THE CURRENT HEALTHCARE LANDSCAPE." Guest Speaker: Lawrence M. Schecter, MD, FACS Dr. Schecter is the Chief Medical Officer at Providence Health & Services for the Western Washington Region based in Seattle, Washington. Most recently he was the Chief Medical Officer at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett, in Everett, Washington. He joined the Providence leadership team in 2003 after a 30 year career as a General Surgeon in Santa Monica, CA. He was an Associate Professor of Surgery in the UCLA School of Medicine and served as Medical Director of Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center from 2000-2003. He received his medical degree from Hahnemann Medical College in Philadelphia and his surgical training at UCLA and West Los Angeles Veteran’s Hospital. Dr. Schecter has held independent medical staff leadership positions as well as executive administrative roles in medical groups, Independent Practice Associations, hospitals and hospital systems. He has focused much of his administrative career on physician-hospital relationships especially as they relate to organized systems of care delivery.
