UPDATE 7/18: WINNERS ANNOUNCED BELOW. CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL!
The Mill Creek Business Association (MCBA) is pleased to offer a fun, unique activity at the 2011 Mill Creek Festival – a QR code scavenger hunt! A number of association member businesses agreed to take part in the activity by donating prizes to the scavenger hunt.
Participants will begin their journey with a visit to the Boys and Girls Club/Haunted Nightmare Haunted House booth in the non-profit section of the festival. Here participants will be provided with three things:
- A tutorial on how QR Codes work (participants must have a QR Code compatible mobile device or at least do the hunt with someone else who does).
- A QR Code Scavenger Hunt Decoder Sheet to track the clues.
- The first QR code clue!
Scanning that first clue will set you on your mission to solve simple riddles. The answers to the riddles will drive your quest, indicating the location of the next QR Code.

(As printed in the 2011 Mill Creek Festival program.)
After moving the Mill Creek Festival back to Mill Creek Boulevard last year, we asked those who attended for comments and suggestions for 2011. The responses were very positive about the new location, but many missed the car show. So we were happy to bring it back this year with the help of the Rod-tiques Car Club. On Sunday, they will host vintage automobiles in the parking lot of the post office on Mill
Creek Boulevard. This is right by where the festival shuttle delivers and picks up guests who have parked at Jackson High School. You can read about the show in an article by “Vintage Vehicle” television producer and host Lance Lambert, in this program.
All of the components of the Mill Creek Festival that visitors have come to know and love are still in place: Pet Plaza, Kids Korner, Arts & Crafts, top-notch entertainment on Main and Community stages, a Beer Garden, nonprofit booths and commercial vendors.
